Brits easily dodging parking fines

Getting a parking ticket can be one of the most infuriating things in life, but a study has found that many have been successful in dodging the incurred fines.
Research by Sheila's Wheels found that one in 12 UK motorists have appealed against a charge and won, while a further 22 per cent believe that foregoing parking regulations is not breaking the law.
The most astonishing fact was that 11 per cent of male drivers admitted to keeping a parking ticket attached to their windscreen in order to avoid incurring any other potential fines.
With many people struggling to avoid rising fuel prices and high car insurance premiums, a parking ticket is just another inconvenience. The most common excuse for avoiding a fine was that the "regulations were not clear".
Jacky Brown, at Sheila's Wheels car insurance, said: "Flouting parking regulations has become a game of cat and mouse between many motorists and parking wardens and often involves people who would never consider themselves as law-breakers."
