IAM advises drivers heading to Spain

Summer is just around the corner, and with the warmer weather comes the holiday season as people prepare to head abroad.
Spain has long been a popular destination with Brits looking to escape the rat race for a week or two, and many will be planning on taking their car to the Iberian country.
Those planning on hitting the Spanish roads have been advised by the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) to be fully prepared for the regulation that driving across the country comes with.
Drivers are being advised to take two warning triangles in case of a breakdown which need to be placed in front and behind of their vehicle.
If driving while wearing glasses, a spare pair must be in the car, and children under the age of 12 are not allowed to sit in the front seat unless using a restraint.
Simon Elstow, IAM's head of training, said: "The Spanish issue on-the-spot fines and these can be hefty. Make sure you get an official receipt if you find yourself on the wrong side of the law, so you have a reference in the event you wish to appeal."
