Land Rover helps out in the cold snap
With snowy conditions engulfing the UK, Land Rover is lending a helping hand by helping the emergency services.
The manufacturer is teaming up with the British Red Cross to provide aid and access to vulnerable people in difficult-to-reach rural areas. As well as loaning vehicles to the emergency services it is also offering winter training to volunteers.
Land Rover will provide advice to Red Cross workers, along with the London Ambulance Service, so that no-one is left stranded in remote places. Since the weather took a turn for the worst, services across the country, from Surrey to the East Midlands have been using Land Rovers as emergency vehicles.
The weather is expected to get worse with the Met Office issuing an "amber" warning as freezing temperatures and frozen rain is expected to hit the country.
Tim Hewson, chief forecaster at the Met Office said that a "mix of rain, sleet and snow is due to stall over the UK" which could potentially cause hazardous conditions for motorists.
