Classic car ownership is about much more than just the vehicle

Owning a classic car is a joy in itself, but for a holder of these vehicles it goes far beyond that, according to a survey by Footman James.
The broker found that 26 per cent of owners are choosing to spend their free time attending rallies and events celebrating everything that is great about having a classic car.
However, while going to these occasions is becoming increasingly popular, it means that many are spending less time on their own vehicle.
Footman James stated that only 18 per cent choose to use their free hours washing and sprucing up their car, while even fewer (16 per cent) are undertaking a full renovation.
Andy Fairchild, Footman James managing director, said: "With the nice weather finally on the way, it is great to hear that so many classic owners plan to get out on the open road and make the most of their vehicle."
In April, the company found that classic car owners spent an average of £1,931 purchasing or sprucing up vehicles of this ilk.
