Ford cars have led sales of new vehicles in the UK for another month in August 2010, according to the manufacturer's latest monthly sales figures.
The carmaker reports that its Fiesta, Focus and Galaxy models led their respective market segments last month, with the Fiesta and the Focus emerging as the two best-selling cars both of August and of the year to date.
In total, 7,245 new Ford cars were sold in the last month, taking its sales for 2010 so far to an industry-leading 184,037, while also increasing its overall market share.
Nigel Sharp, managing director for Ford of Britain, said the firm expects to see its sales boosted further when the new 60 registration plate is introduced next month, as well as hailing the continuing appeal of its cars.
He stated: "Our customers have the assurance that the high-quality and technically advanced features of Ford vehicles are now matched with a competitive price and offer outstanding value."
Earlier this month, the manufacturer announced that its dealers are now offering a new type of sat nav unit called the MirrorNavi, which is installed alongside the rear-view mirror in an extended holder.
