Mercedes maintains presence in luxury car market

Mercedes-Benz has continued its strong performance within the luxury car market, claiming another accolade at the 2012 Auto Express New Car Awards.
The manufacturer's S-Class model retained its status as the top high-end saloon vehicle within the industry after picking up the 'Best Luxury Car' honour for the seventh year in a row.
Judges at the ceremony were once again highly impressed by the vehicle's commitment to safety, comfort and driver assistance, beating off all challengers to scoop the accolade.
Features within the S-Class which helped it lift yet another award include intelligent Light System with Adaptive Highbeam Assist as well as DIRECT CONTROL suspension, PRE-SAFE and COMAND system with Speed Limit Assist.
Marcus Breitschwerdt, president and chief executive of Mercedes-Benz UK Ltd, said: "We never take winning awards for granted, and it is fantastic that all the updates we've done for this iconic car have once again paid off by getting the coveted Auto Express Award."
