New car finance sales up by 33%
Despite the ongoing recession the UK finds itself in, the car market continues to perform well as new car finance sales are soaring, according to figures from the Finance & Leasing Association (FLA).
The trade body revealed that the value of these sales were up by 33 per cent while the volume levels also increased by 22 per cent from March showing that the automotive sector is continuing to perform well.
Officials at the FLA have noted that the latest findings means that finance in dealer showrooms accounted for 65.9 per cent of all private car sales, up from the 56.6 per cent figure for the same period in the previous year.
Paul Harrison, head of motor finance at the FLA, said: "The strong new and used car finance growth figures in the important month of March are good news for the UK motor industry."
The latest positive figures only add to January's findings by the FLA which saw a 42 per cent rise in sales from the previous year.
