New Mazda 'to offer environmental motoring'
The new Mazda CX-5 set to go up for sale in the UK this year is the first car to be designed, engineered and built using Mazda's SKYACTIV technology, which has been set up to create environmentally friendly cars which are also pleasant to drive.
SKYACTIV allows the company to cut carbon emissions and fuel costs without compromising on handling, it claims.
Peter Allibon, sales director for Mazda UK explained the new design technology also allows the company to produce relatively green cars which are within the price ranges of ordinary consumers and dealers.
"SKYACTIV technology is traditional and familiar technology so dealers do not need to invest in extra technician training or expensive service tooling as they would for hybrid and electric vehicles," Mr Allibon added.
Clean Green Cars recommends the smart fourtwo CDI as a good choice for people looking to cut down on their eco-footprint, but many green cars are out of the reach of ordinary consumers.
