Renault sees boost in international sales

Renault has announced it is continuing to perform well in the international automotive market over the first half of 2012.
The French manufacturer saw sales rise across the globe, with the driving force coming from the likes of Russia and Brazil which culminated in the company's international sales increasing by 14.3 per cent year on year and improving its market share to 9.5 per cent.
However, despite the positive results, Renault recorded disappointing figures in Europe, where sales slumped by 14.9 per cent, but the company still managed to sell 620,306 vehicles in the first months of the year.
Renault also announced that it is leading the electric vehicle market across the European Union with a 31.4 per cent market share.
Jérôme Stoll, executive vice president, sales and marketing, said: "The sales offensive did not entirely offset our sales fall in Europe, where in difficult market conditions we focused on protecting our margins."
