Skoda reveals name of its new compact hatch
Skoda has revealed the name of its new compact hatch at Auto China 2012, in the country's capital Beijing.
The new Rapid model is set to make its debut on the European market by the end of the year with a Chinese model being penned for 2013.
Skoda officials have claimed that the new vehicle is an attractive and family-orientated car which sits alongside its Fabia and Octavia.
Winfried Vahland, the company's cheif executive, said: "The Rapid is our next new model. It has a central importance for our growth and will provide us with a strong tailwind on international markets. This car makes a clear statement: precise and emotional."
Skoda recently dominated at the 2012 Auto Express Driver Power Survey with three of its vehicles being named in the organisation's top five 'best car' category.
The Czech manufacturer's Yeti, Superb and Octavia were all named in the prestigious list.
