Glasgow Taxis invest in customer safety
Glasgow's biggest taxi company has invested £1.85 million in improving its infrastructure and technology in order to keep customers safe and improve service levels.
The firm has established new IT and despatch services and renewed more than 550 radio services in order to keep up their improvement levels.
It will also use a new tracking system to ensure it is aware where its fleet is throughout the course of a shift.
Glasgow Taxis vice chairman Stephen Flynn said the move could "modernise the business and ensure we provide the best possible service to all customers, as well as comprehensive support for our membership and drivers".
He added that there had been some challenges inherent in adapting to the new system but assured potential customers "these were quickly overcome".
This comes after Edinburgh Licensed Taxi Partnership chairman Les McVay announced his satisfaction with the performance of authorised cabs in the city, citing low complaint levels in a letter to the Scotsman as the main factor in this.
