High Court bans Addison Lee drivers from bus lanes

The battle of London's transport industry has taken another turn after the High Court has banned Addison Lee bosses from telling its workers to drive in bus lanes.
London's biggest private minicab company had urged drivers to flout a rule that banned all private hire vehicles from using the city's bus lanes to pick up customers, promising drivers that it would pay any incurred fines.
However, the High Court has now moved to put a stop to this action following an application from Transport for London (TfL).
Leon Daniels, TfL's managing director of surface transport, said: "We maintain that allowing tens of thousands of private hire vehicles to drive in bus lanes would impact on the reliability of our bus services, and risks inconveniencing our customers."
Addison Lee's John Griffin recently launched a scathing attack on cyclists that commute to work around London and claimed that they "put lives at risk" by adding more traffic to the capital's roads.
