Joyrider jailed after stealing and crashing taxi in Scotland

A joyrider in Scotland has been jailed after stealing a taxi and crashing it into a wall.
Brian Kelly took the vehicle from a valeting station after he spotted that the keys were still in the ignition.
He then picked up a friend and drove through Kirkcaldy town centre before hitting the wall, according to Stv.tv.
The incident occurred after Mr Kelly travelled through a set of red lights, leaving his friend with a broken leg.
Mr Kelly then pulled out a knife and ran inside a flour mill building before police then used CS gas to bring the situation under control.
Susannah Hutchison, fiscal depute, told Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court that there were three loud bangs as the vehicle crashed into the wall, which could have led to a hefty taxi insurance claim.
Mr Kelly, who was on bail when the offence took place, was jailed for three years and five months.
Last month, two men were jailed for stealing a taxi and driving it into a police officer in Milton Keynes on New Year's Day.
