CV sales 'look to improve this year'

CV sales 'look to improve this year'

Commercial vehicle (CV) sales are looking promising for the new year, Manheim Auctions has claimed.

This comes after the vehicle remarketing company recorded higher attendance and bidding levels during the first half of this month.

Sales director of commercial vehicles at the organisation Alex Wright commented that the demand expressed recently is encouraging for the industry.

He explained: "There appears to be a new feeling of guarded confidence leading buyers to bid on vehicles for stock and not just to order."

Van vendors are also being "more realistic", he said, but added that the market still does remain price sensitive.

This comes after the Commercial Vehicle Partnership announced that it had to cancel its CV show, however, due to financial restrictions within the industry.

The Partnership announced yesterday that many van manufacturers would struggle to commit to such large exhibitions due to the current negative effects the economy is having on trading.
