Volkswagen to offer CV servicing plan

New Volkswagen van drivers need not worry too much about making commercial vehicle (CV) insurance claims within the next three years.

The manufacturer is to offer a three-year fixed-cost service plan to customers for every model in its range, including the Caddy, Crafter, Caravelle and even the California campervan.

Retail and business customers of the manufacturer, with fleets of up to 25 vehicles, will be eligible for the service plan, which will cost from £295 plus VAT.

Head of aftersales for Volkswagen commercial vehicles Stephen Bateson commented: "We're offering these service plans to give our customers an affordable package with greater peace of mind for today's market conditions."

This follows news from British Car Auctions (BCA) that 2008 was the toughest year in a decade for commercial vehicle sales.

BCA's Duncan Ward put this down to the fact that small business confidence has been ebbing away during the economic downturn.
