Car insurance customers with a green conscience could consider the luxury vehicle which has scooped a top award for its eco-friendly credentials for the second successive year.
The Audi A8 2.8 FSI retained its Green Luxury Car of the Year title at the What Car? Green Awards.
Judges concluded that the vehicle’s emissions credentials set it apart from its competitors.
“Step forward, for the second year in a row, the aluminum-bodied Audi A8, which emits less than 200g/km of CO2 and can manage an impressive 34.0mpg on average,” they said.
Another positive highlighted by the What Car? test team was the fact that motorists driving this vehicle would be able to avoid the three per cent company car tax penalty that diesel engines are subject to.
What Car? named the Volvo S40 1.6D DRIVe the overall Green Car of the Year. It also saw off competition from the Renault Megane and BMW 118d to take the top accolade in the small family vehicle category.
