Choosing to drive a vehicle that is fuel efficient is one of the top priorities for motorists looking to cut costs, it has been claimed.
According to car rental firm Europcar, reducing fuel consumption and simultaneously carbon dioxide emissions is at the top of the agenda for both manufacturers and drivers.
It has therefore launched a new initiative aimed at putting these goals at the forefront of its own operations, which will see it become the first car hire firm to give customers information on the emissions of each car group it offers.
Europcar marketing director Catriona Lougher commented: “This initiative is in keeping with Europcar’s ‘Environmental Charter’ and means our customers can make more informed choices about the vehicles they rent.”
This comes after the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders recently claimed that the motor industry is committed to supporting the government’s green endeavours in a bid to reduce CO2 emissions over the forthcoming years.
