The firm in charge of council-owned car parks in Glasgow has incorporated a hi-tech CCTV management system which it claims has improved the efficient running of the city’s parking facilities.
City Parking, which runs Glasgow’s multi-storey structures on behalf of the city council, has allied with CCTV specialist Visimetrics to implement a system which allows for centralised management of car park footage.
This includes the cameras which oversee pay stations and barrier controls, which City Parking claims is helping to make it easier for drivers to use the 250 car parks it runs across Glasgow.
Wayne Myrden of City Parking stated that the system has proven instrumental in helping it establish more efficient parking management for motorists.
He said that Visimetrics has “provided a robust, integrated solution across all major car parks within the city”.
Last week, the Evening Times reported that motorists in Glasgow are to be offered free parking at a number of car parks in the lead-up to Christmas to encourage people to shop in the city.
