A green motor show, Ecovelocity, is set for its second year in the UK, following a successful appearance at the Battersea power station in 2011.
Giles Brown, managing director of organisers IGME, said the event had been well-received last year and is one of the first of its kind in Britain. It featured 17 of the leading low-carbon vehicle manufacturers and offered over 7,000 test drives to visitors.
He added that high attendance at the previous event had encouraged the organising team to consider a larger venue this year, increasing the scope for test drive opportunities.
The show will be held in ExCel, London from May 10th to May 13th.
“We looked very carefully at dates for the event and concluded that we didn’t want to lose our marketing messages alongside the Olympics,” said Mr Brown.
Car manufacturer Kia was recently handed the What Car? Ultra Low Carbon Award for the environmental contribution made by all its new models.
