People on the lookout for a new vehicle could be interested to hear that motor trader Ford received Euro NCAP Advanced rewards for its new Focus model.
Awarded praise for two of the vehicle’s safety technologies, the motor trader is the first non-premium manufacturer to achieve a pair of the accolades.
The car manufacturer was commended for Active City Stop, which allows the vehicle to break automatically if a crash is detected.
Ford was also awarded a five-star rating for its crash safety for child protection following impact collision tests to the front and side of the vehicle.
Chief executive of Ford of Europe Dr Andre Seeck said: “We are proud that we have made these technologies available to so many people in an affordable car like the new Focus.”
Euro NCAP Advanced was launched in 2010 in a bid to reward vehicle manufacturers for developing advanced safety technologies in their products.
