A sporty compact car set to appeal to younger drivers will be unveiled by Alfa Romeo at a prestigious London show.
The company said the wraps will finally come off the Alfa MiTo at the British International Motor Show later in July.
However, motorists will have to wait until October, when pre-ordering for the model starts, for the chance to reserve their own editions of the unique model.
Alfa Romeo said: “Blessed with styling cues from the sublime Alfa 8C Competizione, the Alfa MiTo is expected to win over style-conscious young drivers when it goes on sale here [in the UK] in January 2009.”
The model signals a new direction for Alfa Romeo, which has not released a similar compact car for more than three decades.
Pictures have already been released of the MiTo, showing a sporty red design ad distinctive headlamps.
Motorists could opt for a sports car insurance policy to cover the vehicle, with prices starting at £10,975 for the entry level 1.4 16V 95 bhp Turismo.
ExCeL in London will host the the British International Motor Show from July 23rd to August 3rd, with other highlights including a green car section and live music from the likes of Blondie.
