Japanese sports car insurance policyholders have seemingly given their overwhelming approval to the Nissan GT-R.
The £56,795 performance car took top spot in MSN Cars’ Car of the Year 2009 poll, registering more than twice as many votes as any other vehicle.
Just fewer than 30 per cent of the 80,000 voters named the GT-R as their top drive, enabling it to pick up a second award in as many months, following on from it being named Performance Car of the Year by What Car? magazine.
Nissan car insurance customers who opted for the GT-R made a good choice, according to MSN Cars’ content editor Tom Evans.
“Not only does the GT-R boast impressive specs and enough sheer motoring muscle to outrun its rivals, but the GT-R also boasts one of the most eye-catching, contemporary designs in the supercar fraternity,” he said.
Performance cars proved particularly popular in the website’s poll, with the Jaguar XF, Ferrari California and Mitsubishi Evo X also making the top ten.
