Vehicles to be safer for car insurance customers

More car insurance customers are set to feel a greater peace of mind when driving on Britain’s roads.

This comes after Europe’s largest car dealer Arnold Clark announced that it is to commit all its services and repair sites to the Motor Industry Code of Practice for Service and Repair, ensuring the cars its sells are all safety-approved and roadworthy.

Customers will therefore be guaranteed continued checkups on their vehicles after their purchase.

Motor Codes director Chris Mason expressed his delight at the news, saying: “Most garages, franchised and independent, will already be complying with the scheme’s requirements and with consumer awareness growing, those that don’t subscribe will surely want to join.”

Meanwhile, increased safety on UK roads has been a major talking point of recent weeks.

Road minister Jim Fitzpatrick recently unveiled government plans to inject £3.6 million of extra funding into road improvements on accident and danger spots.
