WhatGreenCar judging to take place next week

Motorists in the market for a vehicle with esteemed green credentials might want to pay attention to next week’s WhatGreenCar judging of the best on the market.

Judges from the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership, the Energy Saving Trust and the Royal College of Art among other establishments will meet at London’s Imperial College on June 25th to determine which eco-friendly car best deserves this year’s green car award.

The shortlist of ten vehicles includes the Toyota iQ, the new Toyota Prius hybrid, Honda’s Insight hybrid and the Volkswagen Passat Bluemotion2.

A spokesperson for WhatGreenCar commented: “The latest models are rated for environmental impact, price, running costs, design and reliability.

“All of which are of increasing interest and concern to UK motorists today.”

This comes after car manufacturer Audi recently claimed that motorists with a green conscience should consider purchasing its Audi A8 2.8 FSI.

The vehicle was named Green Luxury Car of the Year at the What Car? Green Awards for the second successive year.
