Volvo has launched a new version of its FM heavy goods vehicle which is designed to be safer and more comfortable than previous incarnations.
The latest release of the truck has been updated with a distinctive new grille and headlights, while anti-slip windscreen steps and interior trim enhancements offer performance and comfort improvements.
It also incorporates a number of recent innovations introduced to Volvo’s truck range, such as the automated I-Shift gearbox and improved engine range which provides greater power and lower fuel consumption.
Claes Nilsson, president of Volvo Trucks’ European division, said the new Volvo FM represents “a complete truck in every sense of the word”.
He added: “So much is already built into the Volvo FM in terms of comfort, safety and fuel efficiency, so it was more a matter of further fine-tuning, based on feedback we have received from customers.”
The company announced last month that it is gradually increasing production rates of its trucks to respond to a slightly improved demand for the vehicles in Europe.
