An East Yorkshire-based car dealership franchise is branching out to new territory, acquiring a site in Birmingham.
Motor Depot has finalised agreements to takeover the old Car Select premises on Mackadown Lane, just near to Birmingham International Airport. The four-acre premises, which can hold up to 500 vehicles, will represent the company’s first expansion outside of the Humber region, and is set to create around 40 jobs for the area.
The company’s move to a new site will hopefully boost sales and profits. But first Motor Depot must invest in updating the site to their specific needs. In doing so, it is necessary that a combined motor trade insurance policy is taken out to ensure the building, all vehicles, and equipment are protected.
Managing director Steve Butterley told AM online: “As part of our controlled expansion programme, it has always been a primary objective of ours to have a presence in the West Midlands.
“We believe that our successful sales model – which has served us so well in the Humber region – can be successfully transported to new areas and we are excited at the prospect of rolling it out to a vast new market.”
Motor Depot expects to begin operations to add the Birmingham site to their franchise before the end of the year. The firm already operates premises in Hull, Hessle and Scunthorpe.
