Family cars have featured prominently on the list of the top five fastest selling cars in the UK this month.
According to Glass's monthly 'Hot Five', large family cars had the shortest amount of time between entering a used car dealership and finding a new owner. The Chevrolet Orlando, which has been a regular on the Hot Five list in recent months, came out on top, with the vehicle spending an average of 26 days on a forecourt before being snapped up.
Market insights such as these are important for helping car dealers small and large alike cater their stock to what car buyers are after. However, it is always important for businesses to bear in mind that drastic changes to the volume or type of stock they deal with could render their road risks insurance or combined motor trade insurance policy inadequate, so this insurance must be reviewed on a regular basis.
Second place on September's Hot Five list went to the Dacia Duster, which took an average of 27.5 days to secure a sales. The Mazda5 (29.2 days), Peugeot 307CC (30.4 days), and Ford Grand C-Max (30.8 days) completed the list.
Rupert Pontin, Glass's head of valuations, commented on September's Hot Five: "The five covers one of the slowest used car periods of the year, but the results show buyers are still very much in the market if practical family cars are available at the right price.
"The continued presence of models like the Chevy Orlando and Dacia Duster, as well as the Mazda5 and Ford C-Max this month, show that the most in-demand cars continue to be those that present the best value."
