An auto repair shop in West Oxfordshire is offering extra customer services, including manicures, for female clients to make them ‘feel more comfortable’ while they get their car repaired.
Carterton Auto Repair is offering the services of local business, Simply Beauty, to help make female drivers feel more enthusiastic about bringing their cars in for servicing and MOTs. The new services have been praised by female driving group, Foxy Lady Driving Club.
Introducing new customer services to make a trip to the auto repair shop or car dealership more attractive is becoming popular in the motor trade. If you are keen to add extra services, it is important to update your motor trade insurance to make sure any new staff, equipment or buildings are fully covered in your policy.
Speaking to the Oxford Mail, Carterton Auto Repair’s Sarah Scott explained why they decided to add female-focused services: “As a female I can appreciate how scary it can be walking in to a garage or body shop if you aren’t knowledgeable on cars and finding a garage that won’t rip you off can sometimes be tricky.
“We have come up with a few ideas to make females more interested in bringing their cars in for an MOT and making the business more female friendly.”
In addition to the beauty services, the firm is also running a Saturday course for women to help them learn basic auto repair skills, such as changing tyres. Thanks to the extra services, such as those aimed at female customers, Carterton Auto repair is a certified member of the Good Garage Scheme and is also officially approved as female friendly by Foxy Lady Drivers Club.
