The Hendy group of car dealerships has purchased the Lifestyle Dealer Group, resulting in a chain with franchises in 25 locations around the UK.
Now in the top 20 dealership chains in the UK, the expanded Hendy Group is set to see its turnover reach some £600 million per year. It now holds some 40,000 cars, trucks and vans, and its brand offering includes Ford, Mazda, Kia, Dacia, Renault, Isuzu, Suzuki and Subaru.
Following an expansion exercise such as this, dealership chains need to regularly review their motor trade insurance to check that their cover is adequate to insure their expanded stock, greater number of employees and the increased risk that comes with running one of the UK's largest dealership chains.
The Lifestyle Dealer Group operates dealerships in Sussex, Surrey and Kent, has a good reputation in the South East region and was started up in 2001. Chairman Marc Matthew welcomed the takeover, explaining: "We have built up a strong, profitable and successful business in Kent, Sussex and Surrey and believe this growth will continue with Hendy Group."
Meanwhile, Hendy Group managing director Paul Hendy added: "We are delighted that the Lifestyle team is joining the Hendy Group as it has a similar philosophy with a strong commitment to customer care and service.
"This acquisition extends our territory into the south east and adds a number of new franchises to our existing portfolio of Ford, MG, Iveco, Honda, Mazda and Kia.
"It’s very much business as usual at the moment. We’re really excited to be adding the new dealerships to our existing business and look forward to the future."
