Citroen has debuted its new Berlingo Electric in the UK boosting the manufacturer’s offering of low to zero emission vehicles.
The latest incarnation of the model has been unveiled at the 2013 CV Show at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre and builds on Citroen’s experience at bringing electric vehicles to the UK market.
Officials explained that the new Berlingo Electric incorporates all the very latest technology within this field and a domestic socket which will mean that the vehicle is ready and fully charged within the the space of 12 hours.
It can reach 80 per cent capacity in just 35 minutes by using a 380V three-phase terminal in quick-charge mode allowing motorists to get back on the road as soon as possible.
Scott Michael, Citroen’s head of commercial vehicles and business centre programme, said: “Our previous electric LCV experience showed that these specific operations include local authority applications such as meals on wheels, parks departments and many other metropolitan council applications.”
