Ford has continued its strong performance throughout the year by being honoured for its new Ranger model.
The vehicle has claimed the ‘International Pick-Up Award 2013’ following an extensive testing programme at Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire and represents yet more success for Ford.
Ford’s success with this model marks the third international award that the company has received in recent months as it also claimed the ‘International Van of the Year 2013’ accolade for its Transit Custom.
The Ranger wowed judges at the testing track and managed to land the honour with a score of 49, beating off competition from the likes of the Isuzu D-Max and Volkswagen Amarok which ranked second and third respectively.
Paul Randle, vehicle line director of global commercial vehicles at Ford of Europe, said: “This prestigious award is testament to the work of our global product teams and there is plenty more to look forward to with the launch of the all-new Transit and all-new Transit Connect in 2013.”
