Ford is once again building on the success of its popular Fiesta model by starting volume production of the vehicle at its assembly plant in Cologne, Germany.
The move comes ahead of major deliveries due to take place in January when the latest incarnation of one of the most popular cars on the market hits showrooms across the UK. Officials noted that the new Fiesta comes with a host of features which will whet the appetite of buyers across the country.
Ford’s latest Fiesta comes with a number of mod-cons such as SYNC, MyKey and Active City Stop. All vehicles are also fitted with the manufacturer\’s award-winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine which helps to reduce the vehicle’s impact on the environment.
The company’s latest engine was recently given The Dewar Trophy 2012 at the Royal Automobile Club, highlighting its commitment to reducing carbon emissions.
Roelant de Waard, vice president, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford of Europe, said: “The new Fiesta has seven powertrain options both diesel and petrol that deliver fuel economy of less than 100 grams of CO2 per kilometre.”
