Mazda6 has come away from the Fleet News Awards following a successful night with the car taking the title of Best Upper Medium.
The “fleet friendly” vehicle struck the right chord with voters and managed to fend off strong competition from the likes of Volkswagen, Ford, Hyundai and Vauxhall to land the prestigious award.
Officials praised the Mazda6’s SKYACTIV technology which was commended for delivering highly efficient petrol and diesel engines.
It was not just the Mazda6 that came in for commendation with the Mazda6 Tourer being shortlisted for the Best Estate category while the Mazda CX-5 was a frontrunner in the Best crossover section.
The judges explained: “The Mazda6 offers power with efficiency. Its ground-breaking technology in using lightweight materials and re-engineering the drivetrain has resulted in excellent, highly efficient petrol and diesel engines.”
The Mazda6 is currently available from dealerships across the UK with prices ranging from £19,595 to £28,045 (on the road).
