Mazda dealerships will be able to sell the Japanese automaker’s new family car earlier than they had expected.
The company is launching a new Mazda6 range featuring hatchback and estate versions.
It was not expected to reach the UK until later in the year, but Mazda has now revealed demonstrators will be in showrooms by mid-March, with an official on-sale date of April 1st 2010.
The new Mazda6’s body styling and engines have helped to drive down carbon emissions and Vehicle Excise Duty, something which Mark Cameron, Mazda UK’s sales and marketing director, predicted would make the range popular with both families and fleet buyers.
“Mazda6 remains among the best-in-class for emissions and its ownership experience is underpinned by reduced costs and Mazda’s outstanding build quality and reliability,” he added.
People buying a Mazda6 may also regard it as a good investment, as a recent CAP Monitor report said the car suffers less from depreciation than rival models such as the Ford Mondeo and Toyota Avensis.
