Mercedes-Benz is the latest automotive manufacturer to report a highly positive August in terms of sales.
Figures released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) showed that the company enjoyed a 9.9 per cent rise in registrations over the past month, compared to the same period in 2011.
These statistics signify Mercedes’ best-ever August and put the firm’s total year-to-date sales up by 12.5 per cent. Officials noted that the company’s strong performance was driven by the success of its SLK, M-Class, CLS and S-Class model.
All these vehicles noted strong growth within their respective sectors over the past month, boosting Mercedes’ sales figures.
Marcus Breitschwerdt, president and chief executive of Mercedes-Benz UK, spoke his pleasure at the results, stating: “It is great to see so many of our products leading their market segments. We are really pleased that C-Class is in the top ten selling models year to date.”
