Mercedes-Benz has followed up its strong sales performance throughout 2012 with an award at the beginning of the new year.
The manufacturer’s A-Class has been announced as AM New Car of the Year at a presentation at the AM Awards hosted by the publication celebrating the work of the automotive industry.
Officials described the vehicle as being “an all-round performer” and Tim Rose, managing editor of AM, explained that the A-Class is “just the product that Mercedes-Benz dealers need to entice new customers into their showrooms”.
The award highlights the strong performance of the A-Class in the UK and across Europe, with 90,000 pre-orders already being made by eager buyers.
Marcus Breitschwerdt, president and chief executive officer of Mercedes-Benz UK said: “This is a significant win that reflects not only our investment in innovation but also our commitment to listening to existing and potential customers and giving them exactly what they want.”
