Peugeot has started 2013 with a bang after its new 208 sold strongly in the opening part of the year.
The manufacturer noted that the model has entered the top ten UK best sellers at number seven and has added to Peugeot’s six per cent increase in sales of both cars and light commercials when compared to January 2012.
Officials noted that the new 208 has received 23,000 orders since its launch in June last year, spearheading the company’s strong performance in the last six months of 2012 into the new year.
Neil Moscrop, sales director at Peugeot UK, said: “2013 has started well, especially with the 208 continuing to build on the demand following launch and we are confident that with a healthy order bank going forward our sales success will continue.”
Peugeot announced that the latest incarnation of the 208, the 208 GTi, is due to be released in the spring further enhancing its current offering.
