Peugeot UK has experienced a strong first quarter of 2013 with the manufacturer announcing a surge in sales over the period.
The company reported a 6.3 per cent growth and highlighted the strong performance of the 208 model as being a key factor in this positive outcome.
Officials noted that the vehicle maintained its position in the Top Ten Best Sellers after delivering over 30,000 models over the opening part of the year. The XY and GTi versions are due to be released in the coming weeks which is expected to push sales even further.
Peugeot stated that it has recognised the changing needs of the average consumer and has moved towards creating vehicles with low CO2 emissions and that has proved popular with its target market.
This shift in attitude has proved successful with the company’s light commercial vehicles’ seven-year sales growth rising from 4.8 per cent in 2007 to 7.8 per cent in first quarter of 2013.
