Skoda has hit a major milestone within its history with the creation of the 15-millionth car from its line.
The manufacturer stated that the vehicle to take this honour was a silver third-generation Skoda Octavia which came off the production line at the company’s main plant in the Czech city of Mladá Boleslav.
It represents a successful year for Skoda as it produced its 14-millionth car at the start of 2012 and officials have already noted their pleasure at being able to carry on the strong tradition of the company since 1905.
Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland, Skoda chairman of the board, said: “The entire Skoda team is very proud of the 15 million celebration. Producing 15 million cars are a symbol for the great development of the Skoda brand.”
It has been a highly successful past year for the company after scoring record sales in 2012, seeing its delivery levels grow by 6.8 per cent.
