Many people look forward to the summer months but for hayfever sufferers the season can be a nightmare from start to finish.
However, Volvo is on hand to provide relief for all those that are struck down with runny noses and watering eyes by installing a number of pollen-busting features within their new models as standard.
The Swedish manufacturer has installed either an Air Quality System (AQS) or Pollen Filter which are designed to reduce the effects that hayfever can have on a motorist, ensuring a much more relaxed drive, free from the irritation of the ailment.
Volvo’s AQS monitors the level of air particles coming into the car using an interior sensor and has the ability of automatically closing the vehicle’s intake should harmful substances enter the inside.
Nick Connor, managing director of Volvo Car UK, said: “As well as the health aspects of not breathing in pollen, ozone and hydrocarbons, the safety benefits associated with a driver avoiding long bouts of sneezing, whilst driving at speed on a motorway shouldn’t be underestimated.”
