Taxi marshals will again be used in Stirling city centre over the Christmas and New Year period.
Stirling Council has announced that it is to repeat the measures it took last year to ensure the safety of revellers in the city during the festive season.
One of the key parts of the plan, which is backed by Central Scotland Police and the city’s Night Time Economy Group, is to ensure that there are sufficient safe transport options to enable everyone to get home.
A late night bus service will be laid on and taxi marshals will be on the streets to assist both drivers and passengers.
Among the other steps being taken are the deployment of street pastors and the establishment of the Safe Base facility, which will provide information and assistance to the public during their nights out.
Taxis in Stirling were recently the subject of safety inspections during a police operation, which resulted in 12 drivers being told to repair defects.
