New figures have revealed further evidence to suggest that more van insurance customers are turning to the second-hand market for their vehicles.
According to the latest findings of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), commercial vehicle production fell by a significant 65.2 per cent in April to just 7,655 units produced in the month.
Among that number, only 1,924 units went to commercial vehicle insurance customers in the UK.
Despite the negative news, however, the SMMT is confident that the global growth will return to the market.
Chief executive Paul Everitt commented: “With the scrappage incentive scheme fully operational, industry is optimistic about the positive impact this will have on the market and on UK production facilities.”
Meanwhile, for those in the market for a brand new vehicle, Van Fleet World recently declared Ford as the best van manufacturer in the industry, awarding it with a string of accolades.
