Citroen introduces new grip control system for Berlingo vans

Citroen is introducing an optional new grip control system for its Berlingo range of light commercial vehicles (LCVs).

Fleet operators purchasing the Berlingo 850 L1 1.6HDi 90hp LX will now be able to utilise the manufacturer’s new Grip Control Electronic Stability Programme, which allows for greater control over traction.

It also incorporates a number of features to improve performance and safety on slippery roads, such as a hill start assist option and the addition of mud and snow tyres.

This follows the recent launch of the traction-enhanced Berlingo 625 L1 1.6HDi 90hp XTR+ and adds to the manufacturer’s offering of high-grip options following a harsh winter.

Charles Peugeot, head of commercial vehicles and business sector at Citroen, said the new system “provides improved traction both in slippery off-highway and wintry on-highway conditions”.

The Citroen Berlingo has proved a popular choice among LCV buyers and was last year given the Van of the Year title at the Fleet Van Awards.
