Strong sales of new vans have seen Citroen enjoy a larger share of the light commercial vehicle (LCV) market in April 2010, according to new figures.
The manufacturer has revealed that it sold 1,340 LCVs in the last month, 47.6 per cent ahead of its sales pace from last year, meaning that it now commands nine per cent of all van sales in the UK.
It states that the improved fuel efficiency and environmental performance measures introduced to models such as the Nemo have played a key role in driving sales up.
Other new features introduced to Citroen vans in the last few months include the provision of standard Trafficmaster Smartnav satellite navigation and Trackstar stolen vehicle tracking systems on Berlingo, Dispatch and Relay vans.
Charles Peugeot, head of Citroen’s commercial vehicles and business sector, said: “Citroen has enjoyed both a strong April and 2010 year-to-date sales performance and has significantly out-performed a fast-rising market.”
Earlier this year, the manufacturer also introduced an optional new grip control system for the Berlingo, which provides drivers with better traction.
