Van insurance customers looking to boost the security of their vehicle could be set to benefit from a new event being organised by the Freight Transport Association (FTA).
The organisation has claimed that it will cover areas including existing barriers to take-up of the technology, mapping data and the gathering of heavy goods vehicle data at a free workshop entitled Improving Satellite Navigation for Commercial Vehicles.
Taking place in July, the event will comprise a series of presentations from industry experts and satnav professionals.
“It will promote a broader understanding of the issues and explore how significant improvements in the provision of satellite navigation for commercial vehicle operators can be made,” an FTA spokesperson explained.
Meanwhile, new figures have revealed that commercial vehicle drivers are continuing to show an interest in second-hand vans, despite their inferior security capabilities.
British Car Auctions explained that the government-backed scrappage scheme is failing to act as an incentive to encourage drivers to buy new.
