Van insurance customers among motorists under the Keighley spotlight

Commercial vehicle insurance customers in West Yorkshire are likely to find themselves being booked by the police if they are caught driving unsafely.

This comes after the Keighley Neighbourhood Police Team (NPT) announced that it is to continue with its crackdown on motorists committing driving offences on the area’s roads.

Van insurance policyholders who are caught not wearing a seatbelt or talking on their mobile phone while behind the wheel could be issued with on-the-spot fixed penalty notices.

Keighley NPT’s Inspector Wayne Horner commented: “It is important we do all we can to catch the persistent few who are endangering themselves … or causing a potential danger to other road users.”

Similarly, Avon and Somerset Police are currently undergoing an operation which sees them track the driving competencies of Bristol’s motorists.

Officers in conjunction with Bristol city council took to Gloucester Road at rush hour on the morning of March 18th in a bid to ensure all motorists were adhering to the Highway Code.
