Volkswagen’s Caddy van has been given an endorsement of its qualities by a Newcastle firm which has purchased a fleet of the vehicles.
Family-run tea merchant Ringtons has ordered 201 Caddy vans, which is the smallest in the manufacturer’s light commercial vehicle range, to make deliveries to its clients across the UK.
It stated that the comfort and quality of the van has made it a popular choice among its drivers, while its reliability was also singled out for praise.
Carl Moffett, finance director of Ringtons, also stated that the “strong residual value” of the Caddy makes it a cost-effective option.
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ national fleet manager Chris Blue added: “This large fleet deal clearly demonstrates the cost effectiveness and durability of Volkswagen vans. We look forward to seeing the Ringtons tea Caddys on the road across the country.”
The Volkswagen Caddy has also won acclaim from industry experts in recent months, having been presented with the Editor’s Choice award at the What Van? magazine Van of the Year Awards in December 2009.
