Commercial vehicle policyholders in the market for a new van may wish to put their trust in firm-favourite manufacturer Volkswagen.
According to new figures, the company has continued to outdo itself in sales despite the effects of the economic downturn.
It sold a total of 332,000 commercial vehicle units to van insurance customers in 2008, which represented 15 per cent of the European market share.
Chief executive officer of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Stephan Schaller commented: “We are in a strong enough position to master the crisis and to sell more automobiles than before once the difficult market situation has been resolved.”
This comes after car deals website SaveMoneyOnCars.co.uk recently warned motorists in need of a new vehicle that they should purchase one as soon as possible to avoid being fleeced further down the line.
It claimed that automobile manufacturers are currently gearing up to hike prices to ensure they manage to meet increasingly expensive import costs.
