The nights are drawing in and as the temperature drops the roads across the UK are becoming increasingly hazardous.
With this in mind Volkswagen is offering all of its commercial vehicle customers free winter checks to ensure that their van is up to code and ready for the challenges that come with driving in wintry conditions.
Officials said that the assessments are available from all Volkswagen Van Centres, as well as authorised repairers across the country, and includes a host of checks that will prepare motorists for the colder months ahead.
Volkswagen will provide drivers with assessments of their van’s lights, battery, tyres, wipers and washers which take into account the screenwash and anti-freeze levels.
Stephen Bateson, head of aftersales and customer service, said: “People don’t realise the importance of basics like good quality screenwash which works at much lower temperatures than cheaper alternatives, or that the correct antifreeze level is essential to reduce the risk and cost of burst pipes or frozen water pumps.”
