Volkswagen is to enhance the affordability of its Crafter commercial vehicles by offering an unlimited mileage warranty as standard for buyers.
The manufacturer claims that the new deal will help to position the Crafter, the largest van offered by the company, as one of the most competitive of its class.
Simon Elliott, director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, said the move showed “how we’re trying to help our customers manage their budgets and business in the current economic climate, without resorting to desperate price cutting, distressing the market and harming residual values”.
The vehicle range also uses BlueTDI engines, which Volkswagen claims can offer fuel economy and emissions benefits beyond those offered by standard Euro V engines.
In June, Volkswagen’s commercial vehicles group produced the one millionth unit of its T5 brand transporter van at its Hanover plant, stating that the vehicle remained top of new registration rankings for its sector in Europe.
